Architectures and Services for Critical Infrastructures (ASCI) field of competence researches and develops analyses and methods in order to create software architectures for distributed infrastructures. These systems must be scalable, stable and robust. By modeling, simulating and applying AI methods, we are in a position to digitally represent, analyze and optimize complex systems.

Energy Lab
When it comes to digitalization in the energy industry and the implementation of intelligent grids, software platforms and the corresponding applications play a crucial role. The growing complexity, such as the coupling of the various sectors (heat, electricity, water, and mobility), the integration of renewable energy sources or delivering CO2-neutral energy, places high demands on the software architectures and interfaces.
With this in mind, fortiss utilizes and expands the Energy Lab in research projects in order to represent various application scenarios and requirements. The applications illustrate, among other things, how different energy components such as battery storage, photovoltaic systems, sensors and control devices can be connected to one another using standardized interfaces.
